HALLÅ MOTALA!

Hi! Jag heter Francisco José Malavé Tosina och är en EVS volontär i Motala från Spanien.

I’m 22 years old. I have a degree in Management and Public Administration and I’ve always interested in the multiculturalism and the social work. This is because I’ve been collaborating since many years ago with ASERMUN (my sending organization, which is an inter-cultural youth association) and Red Cross, that has a lot of work now in Spain because the difficult situation we are going through. I also like the music; I play the saxophone since I was seven, and the sports like cycling, hiking and running.

I’m from Castuera, a rural village that is about 6000 population, and is situated in Extremadura, in the Peninsula’s south west.

Why Sweden? I chose come here because I’ve always been attracted by the Nordic cultures, the music, the books, the society and I’ve studied a lot about the Welfare State.

Till June I’ll live in Motala where I’ll work as volunteer in Ung Resurs. MODD, the project is developed here is a great tool for give support to those young people who are unemployed. A great team is working for it. In my time here I’ve had the opportunity to participate with the Ung Resurs youngsters in various Step 1 activities like cooking, first aid classes, watching movies, walks, debates, fire fighting classes in the Fire Station, healthy breakfasts, etc. All this means for they can develop an orderly life and acquire team spirit and values as important as fellowship, collaboration and respect.

I’ll be joined in this experience by Bendegúz, a young Hungarian. Together we will live, work and of course, study Swedish, a challenge for us.

I’ve just over three weeks here and I only can say good things about Motala, a beautiful town that has welcomed us with open arms and where I hope spend an unforgettable time. So far what has impressed me most is the nature, all surrounded by forest, the lake, the canal and wonderful landscapes. I’ve also liked the variety of services the town offers.

Finally, I would like to thank the Ung Resurs Team for their warm welcome, the Ordförande Kommunfullmäktige and the Kommunalråd Karl- Axel Pettersson and Camilla Egberth for the nice lunch we were offered and ultimately, the whole people of Motala for their hospitality. İGRACIAS!

Hola! Me llamo Francisco José Malavé Tosina y soy un Voluntario español del SVE en Motala.

Tengo 22 años. Soy diplomado en Gestión y Administración Pública y siempre me ha interesado el multiculturalismo y el trabajo social. Esta es la razón por la que he colaborado desde hace años con ASERMUN (mi organización de envío, que es una asociación juvenil intercultural) y la Cruz Roja, que tiene mucho trabajo ahora en España por la difícil situación que atravesamos. También me gusta la música, toco el saxofón desde los siete años, y los deportes como el ciclismo, el senderismo y el footing.

Soy de Castuera  una pequeña localidad rural que tiene algo más de 6.000 habitantes, y está situada en Extremadura, en el suroeste peninsular.

¿Por qué Suecia? Elegí venir aquí porque siempre me han atraído de los países nórdicos la cultura, la música, los libros, la sociedad y he estudiado mucho sobre el Estado de Bienestar.

Hasta junio viviré en Motala, donde voy a trabajar como voluntario en Ung Resurs. MODD, el proyecto que aquí se desarrolla es una gran herramienta para dar apoyo a los jóvenes que no tienen empleo. Un gran equipo trabaja para ello. Desde que estoy aquí he tenido la oportunidad de participar con los jóvenes de Ung Resurs en diversas actividades del Step1 como cocina, clases de primeros auxilios, películas, paseos, debates, clases de extinción de incendios en el Parque de Bomberos, desayunos saludables, etc Todo ello supone para ellos poder desarrollar una vida ordenada y adquirir espíritu de equipo y valores tan importantes como el compañerismo, la colaboración y el respeto.

Me acompañará en esta experiencia Bendegúz, un joven húngaro de 21 años. Juntos vamos a vivir, trabajar y, por supuesto, estudiar sueco, todo un reto para nosotros.

Llevo poco más de tres semanas aquí y sólo puedo decir cosas buenas de Motala, una bella ciudad que nos ha acogido con los brazos abiertos y donde espero pasar un tiempo inolvidable. Hasta ahora lo que más me ha impresionado es la naturaleza, todo rodeado de bosques, el lago, el canal y paisajes maravillosos. Además me ha llamado la atención la variedad de servicios que ofrece la ciudad.

Por último, quiero dar las gracias al Equipo de Ung Resurs por su cálida acogida, al Presidente del Consejo Municipal y la Alcaldesa, Karl-Axel Pettersson y Camilla Egberth por el agradable almuerzo que nos ofrecieron y, en definitiva, a todo el pueblo de Motala por su hospitalidad. İGRACIAS!
